From 1977 to 1992 the organizing motor sport clubs AC Karlstadt and MSC Zellingen carried out with great success the Sachs-Rally Franken as part of the German Rally Companionship.
This was encouraging to realize a rally for classic cars even after a several years´ break.The first "Franken Classic" took place from 20.07. - 23.07.2000. The event got a lot of praise from all participants. The Sachs Franken Classic 2000 was a ride through the beautiful countryside of Unterfranken and Germany´s premier spa resort Bad Kissingen.
From 19.07. - 22.07.2001 the Sachs Franken Classic was one of the top events as part of the 1200-Year Celebration of the spa resort Bad Kissingen.
The rally led through the Franconian wine countryside and the countrysides of Rhön, Spessart, Steigerwald and Hassberge. The event ended with the classic cars´ presentation as a height (Concours d´ Elegance), a meeting of classic cars in Bad Kissingen and the presentation ceremony at the "Wandelhalle" of the spa resort Bad Kissingen.
During the following years the Sachs Franken Classic became a top event of the German classic car sports. Since 2004 the Int. Sachs Franken Classic is carried out at the weekend of Whitsun.
